An Introduction to Slipcases

In this one-day class, we will explore the fun, but often overlooked world of slipcases.
 
We will start with a basic Folded-Paper slipcase, made from one large sheet of paper folded around and into itself to make a handsome slipcase, especially for smaller books, pamphlets and Artist's Books. These are mostly adhered with Twin-tak, so there are few pressing issues.
 
Then we will make a basic lined slipcase (paper-lined on the inside, which helps preventany warping issues.) This will be covered in bookcloth, and have a debased panel on the spinefor a label. Our last project will be a slipcase with a rounded top and bottom (to match the spine projection of a rounded book.) This will also feature finger cut-outs lined with very thin-pared leather, for a truly elegant finish.
