Blizzard Book

In this workshop we’ll print and sequence a book of leaves printed by each participant and build a hard-cover book with a non-adhesive binding known as a “blizzard binding”. We’ll each fold up a larger sheet of paper to make this binding which will hold all the pages or leaves that we print. Each participant will design and set type to create an image with words or a page of text with a cut. We’ll print on a paper heavy like cardstock, and each participant’s copy of the book will have a copy of every other participant’s pages. We’ll also print a title (that we all decide in the workshop) and a colophon to include as one of the pages. Finally we’ll build the covers for the book, and affix the title label to the front.
