Bookbinding 101

In this class students will make 5 bindings serving as an introduction to bookbinding.

Bindings:
Japanese side stitch
Double pamphlet stitch
Three section pamphlet stitch
One piece accordion fold book with wrap around cover
Fixed width accordion book with covered boards

Sunday, September 12 • 10am-4pm

​In this class students will learn to sew the coptic stitch binding. We will also discuss how to understand written instructions for sewing structure variations. Many different advanced sewings will be introduced and discussed, including sewing over tapes and cords.
